Restoring teeth back to their original luster and brilliance is an art as well as a science. All restorations are custom-made using quality materials that look natural and are durable and are also the most biocompatible and non toxic. Determining the best treatment for every individual patient is made by taking into account the present state of the mouth as well as the rest of the body. Some patients have systemic issues which necessitate modifying or phasing treatment. We will ensure that the restorations we place are the right shape, color and size for a natural look and that the bite is correct so that you can talk and eat properly with no discomfort.

Dental fillings restore teeth damaged by decay back to their normal shape and function, and are a vital aspect of your overall oral health. If you have a tooth that requires a filling, we will remove the decayed material, clean the affected area and then fill the cavity with a mercury free, BPA free composite filling material. This will help to prevent further decay by closing off any cracks or spaces where bacteria can enter and cause harm to the tooth.

Crowns or Caps are used when there is minimal solid tooth structure remaining. A crown is a tooth-shaped cap that is placed over a tooth, helping to restore its shape, size, strength or improve its appearance. A crown not only strengthens a tooth, but can also dramatically improve a tooth’s appearance, shape and alignment. Crowns are frequently used on teeth that have been weakened by large fillings or to restore dental implants.

Porcelain inlays and onlays are used where more tooth structure has been lost due to decay or old fillings and this conservative treatment strengthens the tooth’s structure. The decayed or damaged portion of the tooth is removed while maximum effort is made to preserve the tooth structure. Inlays and onlays are bonded to the tooth and provide strength, durability, protection and brilliance.

When Teeth are Missing

Teeth can be missing from birth and can create many esthetic concerns as well as bite and space issues in the mouth. Sometimes, teeth are fractured and cannot be salvaged or may simply be un restorable due to decay and have to be extracted. It’s important to replace missing teeth as soon as possible to maintain the alignment of teeth to prevent other teeth from collapsing into the space. Once teeth have shifted and tilted, restoring the smile is both costly and difficult.

Bridges are placed to provide beauty and workability to areas where teeth are missing. The teeth adjacent to the space are shaped and the bridge is adhered to the teeth as one unit. Bridges can be made entirely of porcelain and look and feel very natural in shape and appearance and are quite comfortable. The adjacent teeth need to have good bone support and healthy gum tissue for optimum results.

An Implant can be placed in the bone and is like an anchor. After appropriate healing time, a crown can be placed over the implant. The crown looks like a natural tooth and provides function as a good chewing surface. Sometimes, multiple implants are placed in cases of numerous missing or damaged teeth. A thorough evaluation is necessary to determine the best treatment.

A Denture is a removable appliance that restores beauty and function in cases where implants and bridges are not an option. Correctly placing dentures takes skill and experience. We strive to provide high quality full dentures and partial dentures that will fit correctly, remain comfortable, stable and not move around when you eat. Aligning the dentures correctly will also give you a more attractive look and prevent premature wrinkles around the lips or at the corners of the mouth.

Esthetic and cosmetic dentistry

Regardless of your age or gender, you want to put your best smile forward. We have several options to update your smile and some of them are very cost effective and can provide very noticeable enhancements.

Teeth shaping or rounding Young teeth tend to be translucent and have scalloping at the edges. Over time, teeth edges wear down and get a flattened appearance. Women in particular really like the look of teeth that are simply smoothed or rounded at the edges to look more feminine, which can take years off their appearance.

Whitening: A bright white smile that used to be only for movie stars is an option for everyone now. Teeth whitening is a very simple inexpensive way to update your smile and restore youthfulness and brightness to a smile darkened by life’s colors including smoking, coffee, wine and soda pop. Take home whitening as well as in office whitening are both great options to reveal or recreate a brilliant smile.

Porcelain Veneers restore teeth and can create a pleasing attractive smile. Common problems with tooth appearance include; stained old composite fillings, chipped, misaligned teeth or spaces between the teeth. Our thin porcelain veneers are custom made by our specialty lab to look and feel natural. We take into consideration the complexion, gender and age of our patient in order to create a smile that has that “Wow” factor.

Invisalign: For teeth that have shifted due to not wearing retainers or smiles with multiple gaps or for teeth that are not in a proper bite relation, Invisalign or invisible braces can make profound changes. Teeth are gradually moved by clear aligners which are changed every two weeks until the desired aligned result is obtained. Most of our adult patients prefer to not have metal braces and love the easy, fit into your lifestyle straightening effects of Invisalign therapy. Treatment times vary according to the desired outcome and the misalignment of teeth at the start of treatment.

Sometimes teeth need to be extracted due to fracture or infection or for orthodontic reasons. We perform most extractions at our office and also have a great community of professionals who we refer to.

Children’s Dentistry

We work hard to keep our kids not only cavity free but worry free as well and want them to have positive happy experiences at our office. Kids pick up on your stress level so to make their experience easy, take it easy yourself. Bring the children in early for check ups and cleanings so we can develop a trust and camaraderie with them. Bringing them in only for “holes in their teeth” makes for a not so pleasant experience for everyone involved. For the times that we have to do any kind of restorative work on your child, it’s best to not discuss too much before hand to reduce any apprehension that will probably arise.

Soft Tissue Management

A hygiene program is about so much more than just cleaning teeth. Cleaning each tooth daily is what you’re to do at home. Our hygiene appointments include individual coaching so you can optimize your home care.

Our focus is prevention: preventing bleeding gums, preventing bone loss, preventing mobile teeth. After all, those with healthy gums live longer. Bleeding gums – and the problems they create – are a clinical sign of inflammation and a marker for heart disease, which is still the leading cause of death among Americans. Periodontal disease – disease of the gums and surrounding bony tissue – has also been directly linked to strokes, diabetes, premature/low birth weight babies and more.

Because periodontal health is crucial to your overall health, early diagnosis of problems and your full understanding of your situation is necessary.

All of our patients receive a customized treatment plan that addresses your specific situation, whether you’re in good health or poor. Here are just a few of the resources we may turn to:

  • Scaling and root planing to help you stet with a “clean slate”
  • Laser treatment to remove bacteria and diseased tissue.
  • OralDNA saliva testing to identify the specific problem-causing bacteria and determine appropriate treatment.
  • Rinses and tonics to build healthy bone support and gum tissue – the very structures that hold your teeth in your mouth.

For Your Comfort

Headphones and Music to help drown out the sounds we make.

Eye pillows to soothe and comfort as well as neck pillows to cushion and warm you.

Nitrous oxide or laughing gas is a great option for reducing anxiety and it’s effects wear off very rapidly.

Calming botanicals are available for children and adults to induce a sense of serenity

Oral sedation can also be prescribed which is taken prior to the appointment. In these cases, plan on having someone drive you to the appointment.

Massage and cranial therapy work to release and reduce tension and allow for a more pleasurable experience for you.

TMJ therapy: Modern day living includes super sized stress for most people which shows up as tight, painful facial, neck and jaw muscles, headaches, earaches, shoulder/back pain or an inability to open or close the mouth. Most of us hold a lot of tension in the upper cervical area and the muscles and bones are frequently out of balance or alignment which leads to a multitude of symptoms which often include worn down teeth and painful TM joints Our TMJ therapy involves a variety of modalities including muscle release, laser therapy and different appliances to provide comfort. Sometimes we refer our patients to chiropractors or physical therapists for complementary therapies.

Snore appliances: We fabricate appliances to help reduce snoring.

All of our treatment rooms are equipped with monitors so we can not only view images of your smile or your X-rays, but we can show you these images. By being able to view and discuss the findings, you become a participant in your treatment and hopefully enjoy the process more.

Carivu: This brand new technology allows us to view early cavities on the biting surface of the teeth as well as in between the teeth by simply shining a light through the teeth. Cavities under old fillings will also be apparent. Carivu is completely safe and there is absolutely no radiation involved. . No other piece of equipment has been able to show us this before. Its a great complement to our clinical exam.

Intra oral camera: A picture does speak a thousand words. What used to be frustrating dance of trying to show you what we see in the mouth is no longer an issue with our Intra oral camera. You get to see what we see which helps us all in creating treatment choices.

Digital X-rays: Going Digital translates to 90 % less radiation for you. We are aware that most of our patients prefer not to have x rays so we only take them when necessary.

Laser: We use a laser for all kinds of soft tissue management, whether it involves taking the ouch out of canker sores, or removing lumps and bumps in the mouth. The laser is also used for treatment of gum disease. Lasers are also used as low level laser healing devices which along with the higher level laser has recently been cleared by the FDA for healing, pain management and tissue regeneration. We use a high level laser to help with TMJ related concerns.

Ozone therapy: Ozone/oxygen therapy is an effective method for eliminating many types of infection without toxic side effects. We use it to treat dental decay and gum disease. Ozone facilitates the healing response by disinfecting the area and induces more rapid healing. We employ the use of ozonated water, ozone gas and ozonated olive oil.

Interactive Meridian Tooth Chart

Interactive Meridian Tooth Chart App - Human Body

A brief description of the Meridian Tooth Chart

The Meridian Tooth Chart is based on acupuncture meridians, pathways of energy that span across interrelated body parts, glands, and tissues. Each tooth is associated with a particular meridian, through which energy flows. Dentists familiar with the Meridian Tooth Chart are often able to assess patients' general state of health and wellness simply through a review of the oral environment. If a weakness in a particular system or organ exists, the condition of the tooth associated with that area could exacerbate the problem.
